CHRISTMAS PARTY

Hello my friends,
Marry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Christmas in the kindergarten was a wonderful festival for me. We were waiting for Santa Claus.
It was a feast for kings and queens. We played, sang, danced until Santa Claus came. I said a poem to Santa Claus and he gave me a Gift.

My new friend Emilis

Emilis invited me to spend an evening with him in his house.
Emilis every morning goes to the kindergarten at about 7.30.
He usually gets home at about 17.30.

Emilis is a very clever and joyful boy.
He counts, writes, plays computer games. In the kindergarten the kids are not able to play computer games, so his mother lets him play about one hour at home.

He has a lot of energy. His mother is very happy of him. He is really very good and friendly boy.

Best whishes, Nino

It is very cold there and it is snowing in Lithuania. The children are wearing their heavy jackets and gloves to keep warm. Titas and GabrielÄ— are my new friends. We are walking in the park.

Hope to see you soon.

My friends at Ward Green gave me a wonderful goodbye. The sang a song to me in the school reception!

When I'm on my journey, don't you weep after me..
Every lonely rover must go home to the sea...

Today is my last day at Ward Green in England.  One of my new friends drew a picture of me! It was like looking into a mirror!

They made sure I had a big breakfast before my journey! I loved tasting Weetos!

A day in class 4!

Today I joined Mrs Stott's class. All the children are 8 and 9 years old. Today I had to help the children cutting out patterns. They are making comfy slippers for the winter weather.

In the afternoon, I spent some time looking at the Spanish language display in the corridor.  All the children have Spanish lessons with Mrs Moody and Mrs Eyre.

Each week they learn a new word in Spanish. Their writing in Spanish is also getting really good. Can you see what Aimee said about the food they tasted on Passport to Spain Day.

Before the children left for home, we had a chance to look at a traditional card game called Happy Families. It is very old and fragile so I had to be really careful. Each card had funny pictures of people in a family. We had to match the families together.

Maths Stop!

Here I am testing my mathematics skills with my friends from Class 4.

They call this a Maths Bus Stop. When they walk down the corridor to lessons, they have to complete maths puzzles.  I was amazed how quickly the children could work out the answers in their head!

I helped the with some fractions!

A visit to Ela-Cat's House!

Hello all my friends at home,

Today I travelled to my friends home. Her nickname is Ela.  We did lots of fantastic things.

First, we played a challenging game with Ela's dad. It was called Downfall! Ela knew exactly how to play and our team won! We had to try to move the counters to the bottom of the board.

Ela has 5 cats! At first I was a bit frightened, but Ela promised me she wouldn't bite! This cat is called Xylo! I was glad she didn't have any fleas!

Next, we made a 'den' in her bedroom. It was made from blankets and a clothes maiden. When Ela makes a den, she likes to read her magazines inside with her best friends. Today, I was one of her best friends. Yippee!

I was super impressed with her music playing. First, she played an English song on the keyboard and then she showed me how the glockenspiel was just the same. She taught me how to sing this song:

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,
How I wonder, what you are!
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky,
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
How I wonder what you are!

Before bedtime, Ela read some of her favourite story book. It was called 'Inkheart'. It was about story books that came to life! It was really exciting, especially when the fairies came to life.

Finally, it was bedtime! I was so tired - only 48 hours and I will be on my way to Turkey!

I will miss my friends in England.

Bye for now! Ta Ta. Nino xxx

Passport to Spain!

Hello my friends at home,

I have been having a wonderful time in England.

Recently the English children held a 'Passport to Spain' celebration.  After my visit to Madrid, I had lots to teach them.

First we made Paella using rice, garlic, saffron and fish. It had a wonderful aroma. It was hard work stirring with the spoon.

The children really enjoyed testing the recipe. Can you see that there is none left in the bowl?

Also, we made Spanish sangria with orange juice, grape juice and fruit pieces. Cheers!

In the afternoon I helped some of the children research Spanish weather. We compared it to the weather in Barnsley and the children produced tables and graphs on the computer.

Finally, Mr Ingman taught us how to play a Spanish melody on the cornets and baritones in our brass lesson. He said mine was the best he had ever heard!

Ta Ta for now (That's how they sometimes say goodbye in England!)

A day trip to Eden Camp

This week I went on a trip with the Year 3 and 4 classes to Eden Camp. It is a fantastic museum that told us about the experiences of children through the Second World War! I was really frightened in the Blitz hut, but my friends looked after me well! I tried on an ARP Wardens helmet and pretended to be guarding the camp.
