Nino' s adventures

As soon as I come back from Belgium I started writing  a book about  my  adventures .
I'm Nino the hedgehog, I'm from Ghilarza , a very nice town in the centre of Sardinia. You can find me in a fairytale" The Hedgehog Tree"by Antonio Gramsci. Gramsci lived in Ghilarza with his family and attended the local Elementary School.  Our Primary School is intitled to him  , that's why the Primary children chose me as their mascot in this fantastic project.
Antonio Gramsci, the writer, was imprisoned during Mussolini era and in prison he wrote a lot of letters to his children Delio and Giuliano. Gramsci  wanted  to  stimulate and develop their intellects and imagination . He set them reading lists, , wrote them bedtime stories and told them tales of his own childhood:"One autumn evening, it was already dark, but the countryside lay bathed in moonlight. I went with another boy into an orchard full of fruit trees," he wrote to Delio in 1932. "We hid in a bush, facing the wind. All of a sudden, the hedgehogs came out of their holes. There were five of them, two big ones and three little ones. They made their way in single file towards the apple trees, rambled about in the grass for a while and then got down to work......

During these 2 years I have visited all the 8 partner countries and I have learnt a lot of things:  History and Geography. school systems,    culture and traditions, different languages, music ,songs, and games . I stayed  with the children families!!!!!!
